Turning Point Community of Scholars is a faith-based organization that puts Christ first while serving the needs of the community through education and housing. The campus, staff, students, and residents strive to follow God and Christian values while changing the landscape of poverty in the community surrounding the property.

Turning Point Community of Scholars Educational program is designed to increase the quality of life for single parents by providing them with an opportunity to receive life skills, higher education and certifications.

Turning Point Community of Scholars Education partners increase the quality of life for single parents by providing them with an opportunity to receive a higher education, certifications credentials and life skills.
Turning Point Community of Scholars was started with the vision of Tim and Tanya Harris, Pastors of Turning Point Family Worship Center to change the effects of poverty in Indianapolis. A ministry spanning over 30 years has impacted the lives of hundreds of young people as they pursued their education, raised their family, and progressed in their career.

Turning Point Community of Scholars launched in 2013. Each year our graduation rate has grown dynamically.
​
2015 - over 90% of our mentees reached their goals within 5-7 weeks. Since then our success rate has only increased.
​
2016 - Eleven mentees sucessfully completed life-skills training session. At end of the year "Where they are now?" celebration four mentees received honorable mention awards and four mentees received achievers awards for their achievements.

2017 - TPCS partnered with Marian University to expand our IT certification offerings.
​
2018 - TPCS partners with Martin University offering entrepreneurial development and certification in family & community services. Seventeen students received their certification credentials.
Turning Point Community of Scholars has formed a partnership with Marian University to offer 14 week certification training onsite (Logistics, Constructions, IT (MOS). Students, ages 18 years old - adults can received their certifications credentials as well as their high school equivalency diploma, if applicable.

Also with Martin University, offering 16 week course entrepreneur development and certification in family and community services.

Turning Point Community of Scholars mentoring program ensures that mentees are mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually able to function and excel throughout the program.

What is Turning Point Life University?
Turning Point Life University is a component of Turning Point Community of Scholars that equips single parents with the life skills necessary to obtain better employment, education, and living conditions through short classroom-style sessions hosted at apartment community center on the east side of Indianapolis.

What is the purpose of this program?
The purpose of Turning Point Life University is to teach, train and transform families to function as a unit while doing individual tasks and activities of daily living. This program also includes resources from external partners.
